Hamburger Stroganoff Recipe

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can (8 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles or rice
  • parsley (optional)
  1. Brown beef and onion in butter a large skillet until onion is tender.
  2. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
  3. Stir in flour, salt, pepper and mushrooms and cook 5 minutes more.
  4. Stir in soup and lower heat to a simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes, uncovered.
  5. Stir in sour cream until heated through.
  6. Serve over noodles or rice, sprinkled with parsley.
